FarmerOn, a Croatian startup building productivity and management tools for farmers, just became part of Dave McClure’s 500startups, a seed fund and accelerator. The story broke on Twitter and the Croatian blog Netokracija.

How To Web is now accepting applications for the 2011 Startup Challenge that will take place at the conference. The deadline to apply is the 20th of October.

And here are some interesting articles about startups from the region elsewhere on the web: SEEHub sheds some light on the mysterious Nordeus, Startup Sauna profiles App-scale, the winner of Startup Sauna Warmup Jekaterinburg, and GoalEurope recaps all three Startup Sauna Warmup events in Siberia (Kazan, Novosibirsk, and Jekaterinburg).
